Gene Chambers has been standing tall in music for nearly 55 years! From his days with the Beachers in Panama to his time with the Wilfrido Vargas ensemble in the Dominican Republic, and Marfil in Costa Rica, Gene has made a name for himself as a masterful collaborator, standout vocalist, and dance talent.

He is a central figure in Central American music, who has bridged the gap, musically, with his blend of Latin, Carribean, and American Soul sounds.

Gene has received numerous accolades over the years, including being named a "International Ambassador of Latin Music" by TV Mundo Digital. The theater at the StarView in Downtown San José, was built in his honor.

Depending on whom you ask (and where), "Sibonet" with the Beachers or "Mover La Colita" with Wilfrido Vargas are the signature recordings on which he sang lead.
